Painting beautiful I love you, but that with the painting brush is actually over with me, the only thing I paint with a brush is with the shaving brush on my face."
Klaus Haas
„Malerei wunderschön ich liebe Sie, aber das mit dem Malpinsel ist eigentlich bei mir vorbei, das einzige womit ich mit einem Pinsel male ist mit dem Rasierpinsel im Gesicht.“
Klaus Haas
>> room-picture-installations <<
The concept behind the piece of work consists of variable picture systems which relate to the room they are situated in or to their environment in general and which – depending on the particular situation – can permanently create new and various presentations, thus creating wall and room installations with constructive and structural themes and concepts which integrate and reflect reaction mechanisms to environmental situations, qualities of the room and sensory perceptions. The most important aspect thereby is the searching and disclosing of perceptions and perspectives of an open form of realization of pictures that cannot be lumped together into one particular category. The pieces of work are characterized by picture systems that are not confined to one individual room and which – by serial presentation, by putting them on top of one another, grouping them and putting rhythm into them as well as by thematic and formal matters - create a conceptional unity.

A >> serial picture remix system << is created consisting of individual elements that can be freely combined in every imaginable way and through which every image becomes part of an unlimited picture presentation. An endless stream of pictures which – through a magnetic system – makes change possible and can always take on different combinations in the room. Thus, every presentation requires a new construction, which deflects from the formal problematic nature of the works and creates new environmental conditions and rooms for experience that can continually be perceived differently. The constructions vary: from the unity of the wall-picture- installations to single wall-picture-objects to serial individual elements of the picture.
A >> room-wall-picture-installation <<, a universal picture world into which - after the completion of the pictures – one can enter into variable, combined picture cabinets and object rooms: as a room within a room, as picture rooms consisting of pictures, as a space between the second and third dimension and as a construction in and about architecture. Thus, by changing locations, the beholder has the possibility to experience different kinds of perception situations: invasion, proliferation and occupation to the complete dissolution of the room or the reversal to a subtle integration into the environment. A layer of picture-object, room-relating picture-in-picture.
A >> metamorphosis << of the picture as a changing process of different kinds of reactions to environmental conditions in and beyond the room, away from the presentation of the picture material to the combination of painting, photography, and video-film which are included as a comparison or as integrated elements into the creation of the picture and which function as a visual means of communication between the different levels. That is a possibility to create endless interacting picture concepts that do not obey the traditional mechanisms of pictures.
They rather plumb the depths of that border area ranging from the picture object, the wall and room installation to the action and can thus function as a basis for an expanding method of new picture creations.
